Product Description
Complies with: BS3900: E1, DIN 53150, DIN EN ISO 1519.
Used to test the resistance of a coating of paint, varnish or related product to cracking or detachment from a metal panel , after the panel has been bent around a cylindrical mandrel.
It can be used as a simple Pass/Fail test at a known diameter, or as a Paint of Failure test, by using successively smaller mandrels until cracking is observed.
Accepts up to 50mm wide and 1mm thick panels cam be tested.
The following SS mandrels are supplied togerther:
2,3,4,5,6,8,10,12,16,20,25,32mm dia.
Procedure
Apply the paint film on sheet metal strips
Coat and dry film carefully to ensure reproducible results For testing,uniformly bend the coated samples over the bending mandrels within 1-2 sec at 180 degrees
Start with the largest bending radius,the test is continued until reaching the bending radius at which film shows crack.
