On each side of the ring there are two 1/2-Inch conduit knockouts along with one 1/2-Inch and one 3/4-Inch eccentric knockout while both ends contain two 1/2-Inch conduit knockout. The extension is used when you need to add wire capacity and mounts directly on top of the square box so additional circuits can be ran.
