Three delicate grape clusters grace this mobile-like chime. Each cluster is distinctive; with purple, green and coral color round capiz representing different grape varieties. The leaves are also capiz, and green steel wires create the plants stems. When the wind blows, the capiz create a sparkling, musical arrangement. Capiz are farmed in Indonesia and every bit is used. The pieces are carefully sorted, dried, sliced, shaped, sanded and dyed. Strung together with strong, invisible, nylon cord, the thin, flat translucent pieces provide luminous color. In the 1500s, capiz were used as windowpanes in houses; now they are used in all sorts of home decorations, including lamp shades and vases and (of course) windchimes! This wonderful capiz chime was hand-crafted with pride by craftsmen of Bali. Because it is hand-made, measurements are not exact; your chime will be approximately 21 inches tall and 12 inches wide.
